The three things salons get wrong
First, treating it as the accountant’s problem. The data MyInvois needs — buyer TIN, correct classification, the right tax treatment — is captured at the counter or not at all. A bookkeeper cannot reconstruct in March what the front desk failed to ask for in January.
Second, running e-invoicing outside the POS. Re-typing the day’s sales into a separate portal is slow, and on a busy Saturday it is the task that gets skipped. Compliance has to be a by-product of ringing up the sale.
Third, forgetting packages and prepaid credit. A ten-session package sold in one month and consumed over six raises a real question about when revenue is recognised and what is invoiced when. A system that models packages properly answers it consistently; a spreadsheet does not.
